Assembly
Assemblies still work in progress. Time is a concern.
Small team only to introduce items - Staff preference was to have 2 permanent presenters and 2? others to help. Konrad and Tiare first 2 assemblies - other helpers so far: Otis, Riley, Lucia, Genevieve, Konrad.
Miss W discussed with the group and all agreed to the proposal to reduce numbers.
Assembly this Friday - week 7
Guest speaker from Scouts to talk at both assemblies.
Brett Waite to present football trophy won against Kapanui and show a short clip at senior assembly
This week’s team: Tiare, Konrad, Miller, Georgia, Ashton. There will be no items shared by classes due to speakers. Miss W to talk to organising group. Can we get finalists? In Waikanae got Talent to perform?
Future events
Wheels day, and book character dress up - last day of term.
Please note Loud Shirt day has been removed due to book Character day and Wheels days clashing
Sports group? Ideas...gutter board house comp? -
Some good ideas suggested. Volleyball net and competition term 4 ( Micah and Tu) Gutter Board day - ( Miller) Table tennis hall ( Miller). Sports group to organise once team leaders have been decided.
Leadership Blog: Can we please confirm groups. Some people on everything?
Some groups have been thinned out / deleted/merged. Miss W found a lot of names repeated twice on assembly! It was decided that each ‘group’ will have two leaders to organise their activities. They will hold meetings to decide on activities in their time instead of waiting for the ‘whole team’ meetings on a Tuesday. The group leaders will report to Miss W to keep her informed. A Google Form has been shared with all of the leadership team asking for nominations for team leaders.
Feedback Doc - Tiare to organise email group list for leadership team so all can access and contribute to feedback document.
Tops- Otis
Otis to share a contact for tops. During a discussion with some members of the leadership team, it was suggested that tops be sourced for all Year 8’s. Year 8’s can opt into buying as a memento of their time at Waikanae. Could be t-shirt, sweat shirt top with name etc. Otis to survey year 8’s to see if there is interest in this suggestion.
Suggestion Box office
Genevieve to create a box for the office area. Rest of school encouraged to post ideas / suggestions of things they would like to see happen at W.S Assembly team to publicise this at Friday’s assembly.
Picnic tables
Miss W to check with Mr C about placement etc etc

Riley would like a sausage sizzle on Wheels day. Money to go towards?? Miss W to check with Mr C
